More than forty years (40) of experience in management, design, supervision and coordination for infrastructure projects (water supply, sewage, storm, roads, street lighting…… Etc) from work in governmental and private, consulting engineering offices and others at different places in the country, including large pumping stations, sewage treatment plants & hospitals. We got big opportunity to make some engineering works in the Great Man Made River project which considered one of a huge engineering project in the world. ⦁ 2008/2009 Project Manager, Design for water supply project (engineering works).
This project work includes collection of information, survey, engineering design, technical specifications, bill of quantity, and bedding documents to provide (23) regions with drinkable water from the Man Made river project, along the sector of JABAL ALHASAWNA, JAFARA and ALSEDADA, SIRT. The drinkable water system consists of pipelines 242 km in length with diameters ranged from 200 mm to 1000 mm and (15) pressure relief tanks with a capacity from 1500 m3 to 50,000m3, in addition to (2) pump stations, one with a capacity of 48,000 m3/day and head of 190 m and the other with a capacity of 4,100 m3/day and head of 145 m.
⦁ 2004/2006 Project Manager, HAWARI hospital project 520 beds (execution supervision).
This project includes complete renewal and improvement of the mechanical & electrical system of the hospital building which was constructed in 1973, in addition to the civil engineering works. The mechanical work includes supply and installation (4) chillers, (22) air handling units, air ducts system, (2) boilers, an incinerator, medical gas system, hot / cold water pumping system, irrigation system, sewage water piping system, firefighting system, …Etc. The Project contractor for civil works PWA (local contractor) and for electromechanical contractor VAMEED ENGINEERING (Austrian).
⦁2006 Project Manager, Benghazi cardiology center project (engineering works).
This project includes extension of the existing building by adding an operation theatre and emergency care unit in the first floor in addition to the architectural changes of the existing building, preparing structural, mechanical amp; electrical designs, technical specifications and bedding documents. The mechanical work includes a fire fighting system, passenger elevators and bed elevators. All above mentioned works were performed under our direct supervision and we designed the passenger elevators, bed elevators and prepared their technical specifications.
⦁ 2005 Project Manager, central pharmacy project (engineering works).
This project work includes engineering design, technical specifications, bill of quantity, and bedding documents. Complete renewal and improvement of the mechanical and electrical system of the pharmacy stores which was constructed in 1973, in addition to the civil maintenance works of the existing buildings, design of internal roads & landscaping. The mechanical work includes the design of (9) package air handling units’ air ducts and firefighting system. All above mentioned works were performed under our direct supervision with technical support from an international consulting office (HAMMZA ASSOCIATES).
⦁ 2004 Project Manager, hydraulic study of Benghazi city (engineering work).
This project includes the use of the collected information about the city drinking water network to execute the hydraulic analysis using the latest Office software’s and mathematical patterns to simulate water distribution networks in order to predict the future effects resulting from changes in operating conditions without disturbing the actual existing water network and expecting any problems to prepare solutions in advance. The hydraulic model executed by a technical support from an international consulting engineering office (ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS GROUP-ECG) under our direct supervision.
⦁ 2003 Project Manager, Benghazi drinking water networks (engineering work).
This project includes the collection of all information available with the owner of the network including 300mm and over piping networks, valve chambers, pumping stations, elevated water tanks, city water well sites, chlorination system, air photographs, general plan maps of the city, population and other information. These information was entered to the computer and analyzed to know the technical condition of the existing systems and so it became to get benefit of this huge quantity of information in a data base system that can be used in future in the preparation of hydraulic model and geographic information system (GIS) of the city drinking water network. All phases of work were finished under our direct supervision.
⦁ 2003 Project Manager, fishing ports (engineering works).
This project includes design of two fishing ports in ZWETINA & AGHAILA including the collection of local weather information (such as wind, rain, humidity, ebb & flow), fishing boat types & their specifications, local building material sources, previous environmental studies, air photographs of the ports, area fish types, topographic, hydrographic & geological survey maps and other necessary information. Collection of information, land geotechnical works and land survey were carried under our direct supervision. The marine survey, marine geotechnical, engineering design, technical specifications and tender document executed by a technical support from an international consulting engineering office (HAMMZA ASSOCIATES).
⦁ 1995/1996 Design Coordinator for Western village’s water supply project.
The above mentioned project to supply water from the Man Made river project, along BENGHAZI sector the project comprises of Ground tanks, a pipeline system, valve chambers, a pumping station with a design capacity of (14,679) m3 /day, and a Chlorination plant. The water is pumped from the station through pipelines of dia. (400) & (300) mm to SULOG(5km), MAGROON (30 km), GEMENES(25km) and Al-KHADRA(10km). The above mentioned project comprises of a pump house (4) pumps working (2) stand by, surge vessels, valve chambers, flow meter, generator house, screen chamber, pipe work, steel work......etc.
⦁ 1997 Design Coordinator for BENGHAZI Distribution Pumping Station.
The pump station supplying (190,000) m3/day of water at head (79.6) m from the Man Made River project to (609) farm tanks capacity (240) m3 each. The pump station consists of (4) pumps motor power 600 kw, surge system, isolation valve chamber, flow meter chamber, screens system, piping system, steel works and other buildings.
⦁ 1995 Design of pipe laying schedule for Tripoli water supply project.
Design of pipe laying schedule for Tripoli water supply project from the Man-Made River for pipe Dia. (1800) mm, (1600) mm and (1200) mm for the connection of two existing Pumping Station to the conveyance line, the job includes the design of Valve Chambers (Air valve, Washout, Sluice gate, non-return valve, Pressure Control valve. etc.) for TRIPOLI water supply project from the Man Made River Project.
⦁ 1989 -1991 Project Manager for AJDABIYA Sewage Project - Stage III.
The Project consists of sewage treatment plant located outside the city with a design capacity of (20,500) m3 /day, including (3) pumping stations in the city. The accumulated sewage in pumping station No.(1) is pumped to the treatment plant by Asbestos Cement pipeline of dia. (700) mm. with a total length of (7.145) km . The project contractor DAEWOO and contractor consultant KRUGER AS.
